Photoshop intermediate to advanced. This class covers the digital journey from camera capture to final results.
If you have used Photoshop Elements or Photoshop a little, don’t be afraid: this is the class to thrust you forward. If you have moderate Photoshop experience, and even as a practicing photographer, this is the class for you: cease those bad habits, and learn new and better skills !
Part of each class will be instruction and demonstration, followed by participants working on assignments and their own project images. Each student will need a USB thumb-drive to gather practice images, documents, lists of links, color profiles, and Photoshop Actions provided by Andy Wainwright.
The tease: Given that Masking is as important as clean drinking water, and Blending Mode is her Mother-in-law, it's time to think of good retouching as: you have x-ray vision in a world of mortals. Aren't you curious ?
Subjects covered: The best camera settings for your needs, lighting theory and design, the importance of good White Balance, simple and correct workflow, smart file re-naming, organizing and backup, viewing your assets: catalogers vs image browsers, setting Black and White Points, reasons for RAW capture, mastering jpeg output, great tools in Bridge, Adjustment Layers and Masking, editing color spaces/destination color printer profiles, Color Management made understandable, composting/collage-ing/panorama creation, Masking and their useful Blending Modes, tools you should never use, Soft Proofing, sharpening: when and what, uploading to C printing, preparing/creating postcards.....all leading (of course) to resplendent output !
Best, Andy Wainwright
